Olivia Rossi-Doria
Sadly, Olivia died following a climbing accident in June 2006.
Olivia made a substantial contribution to the 1st International Timetabling Competition, taking a significant role in defining the problem, specifying the instances, constructing the rules, and analysing the solutions. Through this work, and her other research activities, she made a real difference to the study and comparison of algorithms for automated timetabling.
As well as an excellent researcher in metaheuristic methods and combinatorial optimisation, she was a good friend to many of us. She is greatly missed.
